Nicky Spinks describes herself as “a 51 year old beef farmer and fell runner. I did a little running when I was growing up on a farm in Glossop but mainly because it was quicker to get the ponies in than walking! I then started running in 2001 with a couple of 10k races. I then found fell running in the Peak District and left the roads for good! After doing the Marsden to Edale fell race I knew I preferred the longer distances and went from 20 miles to doing the Bob Graham in 2005.

After the Bob Graham I attempted the other UK rounds; the Paddy Buckley in Wales and the Charlie Ramsay in Scotland. I then learnt how to get faster and better at rounds and went on to break the ladies records for all three rounds too. In 2016 I attempted the Double Bob Graham and was successful in doing two loops in 45.30hours. Then in 2018 I attempted the Charlie Ramsay and on a very hot day completed the two loops in 54.56 hours.”
